Grössentabelle Diamant
Carat bezeichnet das Gewicht eines Diamanten oder Edelsteines.
Je höher das Gewicht also die Karatzahl ist,
desto wertvoller ist der Diamant bei gleicher Qualität, da größere
und schwerere Diamanten seltener sind.
Ursprünglich war das Karat das Gewicht eines getrockneten Samenkerns des
Johannisbrotbaums (Ceratonia siliqua).
Das Gewicht des Samenkerns beträgt ca. 0,2 g was ca. 1 Carat entspricht.
